The right font is invisible. The wrong one makes you look sloppy before a word is read.

Always safe

  • Inter
  • Calibri
  • Arial
  • Helvetica
  • Georgia (serif)
  • Times New Roman (serif, formal)
  • Garamond (serif, elegant)

Never use

  • Comic Sans (any context).
  • Papyrus.
  • Impact.
  • Script or handwriting fonts.
  • Any font you had to download from a random site.

Size and weight

Body 10–11pt, section headings 12–14pt, name 20–28pt. Never go below 10pt to force one page.
